Rea L. Culwell

Rea L. Culwell, Associate Attorney at Moberg Law Group, brings over 20 years of experience in criminal, municipal, and government law. She is a skilled trial attorney with a strong record of successfully defending and advocating for government agencies and employees, while prioritizing public interest and risk mitigation. 

Rea holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Whitman College and a Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law. Her legal journey began in Benton County, WA, where she represented key departments and elected officials, including the Sheriff's Office, Jail, Coroner, Auditor, Assessor, and Building and Planning Department. She also served as the County's Public Records Officer and legal advisor. Rea later served three terms as the elected Prosecutor and Coroner for Columbia County, WA, managing governance matters across all county departments and conducting death investigations. Her expertise further expanded as City Attorney and Prosecutor for College Place, WA, adding municipal law to her areas of specialization. 

At Moberg Law Group, Rea manages a diverse portfolio of legal issues, including civil municipality defense, criminal defense, crime victim advocacy, real estate, landlord-tenant, commercial law, and business law. Her expertise also spans community development, environmental and land use law, labor and employment law, and compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act and public records law. She is licensed to practice in both state and federal courts. 

Beyond her legal practice, Rea is deeply committed to community service. She has dedicated countless volunteer hours to supporting nonprofits and marginalized communities and currently serves on the development and design committee for the Walla Walla Common Roots Housing Trust. Residing in Walla Walla with her husband, dog Thursday, and cat Nancy, she enjoys cooking, gardening, and passionately cheering for Seattle's sports teams, including the Mariners, Kraken, Seahawks, Storm, Reign, and Seawolves.
